Lamb Meatballs with Yoghurt Sauce and Couscous


  • lamb mince meat
  • onion (chopped)
  • garlic
  • fresh ginger
  • cumin
  • powdered bay leaf
  • chilli flakes
  • turmeric
  • salt and pepper
  • egg
  • natural yoghurt
  • mayonnaise (stage 1 fit6 recipe)
  • fresh coriander
  • red bell pepper (diced)
  • green bell pepper (diced)
  • tomato (chopped)
  • 4 tablespoons of couscous
  • olive oil


In a large bowl mix bay leaf, 1/3 of an onion, egg, cumin, chilli flakes and turmeric. Mix well. Add mayonnaise and chopped coriander to taste. Season with salt and pepper. Mix once again and place in the fridge.

Divide the mixture in round balls. Put the meatballs in the ovenproof dish and cover them with the chopped tomatoes. Top with the bell pepper and place the ovenproof dish in the oven for 30 minutes, gas mark 5.

Serve with couscous and yoghurt.
